The Society has a growing list of Fairview families and their genealogy.  In addition, the Society has burial listings in the Fairview Cemetery from its beginning in 1864 present day.  These include stones transferred from earlier burials at other locations in the township, i.e., family sites, etc.


The Society also is collecting veteran information from Fairview residents and former residents to add to a growing list. Photos with information such as name,        rank and years of service are gratefully accepted.  Copies can be made of photos and the original returned to the owner.

 Marchus Lewis, USN Marcus Lewis, USN

  Marcus Lewis served as a quartermaster in the US Navy during the Civil War, serving on both the
  USS Silverlake and the USS Red Rover.  He was injured in battle and died of his wounds on
  January 15, 1865, at 21 years of age.

  The Silverthorn brothers were (l to r) Lee, Carl and Russell.  Lee and Russell served in
  Company G of the 112th Infantry, 28th Divison.  Russell died in battle at Fismette France.

 

 

 

 Jerry Baskin, USN Jerry Baskin, USN

  Jerry Baskin served in the US Navy during World War II.  Jerry grew up in the Home for Children, 
  located on Route 20 at the west end of Fairview Township.  While in high school he was a star athlete
